It’s summer, how do you choose a basic T-shirt that feels comfortable, durable, and cost-effective?
There are different opinions in terms of aesthetics, but I believe that a good-looking T-shirt should have a textured appearance, a relaxed upper body, a cut that conforms to the human body, and a design style with a sense of design.
A T-shirt that feels comfortable to wear and is washable, durable, and not easily deformed has certain requirements for its fabric material, workmanship details, and shape, such as the collar requiring neck ribbing reinforcement.
The fabric material determines the texture and body feel of a garment
When choosing a T-shirt for daily wear, the first thing to consider is the fabric. Common T-shirt fabrics are generally made of 100% cotton, 100% polyester, and cotton spandex blend.
100% cotton
The advantage of 100% cotton fabric is that it is comfortable and skin friendly, with good moisture absorption, heat dissipation, and breathability. The disadvantage is that it is easy to wrinkle and absorb dust, and has poor acid resistance.
100% polyester
100% polyester has a smooth hand feel, is sturdy and durable, has good elasticity, is not easy to deform, is corrosion-resistant, and is easy to wash and quickly dry. However, the fabric is smooth and close to the body, easy to reflect light, and has a poor texture when seen by the naked eye, cheap price.
cotton spandex blend
spandex are not easy to wrinkle and fade, with large extensibility, good shape retention, acid resistance, alkali resistance and abrasion resistance. The fabric commonly used for blending with cotton has good elasticity, smoother hand feel, less deformation, and cooler body feel.
The T-shirt fabric for daily wear in summer should be made of 100% cotton (the best combed cotton) weighing between 160g and 300g. Alternatively, blended fabrics such as cotton spandex blend, modal cotton blend. and sports T-shirt fabric can be selected from either 100% polyester or polyester blend fabrics.
